Access Data
Devon Biodiversity Records Centre is the biodiversity data custodian for Devon. As a part of this role, we generate novel biodiversity focused datasets. As well as verify, store, and distribute the various species records and habitat data that we collect from partners. Which augment our own survey efforts.
This data is primarily accessed via our paid Data Search service or individual data licencing. This service can be used to find species records, Designated Sites, and local environmental sites around a site or central point. Data searches are a critical source of income for DBRC in order to carry out it’s function.
In addition, DBRC has in recent years begun to utilise it’s data holdings and technical skills to create strategic outputs to better meet our customers needs. In some cases these datasets have become a part of the core suite of products that DBRC can offer. Our Combined Habitat Layer (CHL) is an amalgamate layer of the best habitat data in any given location in Devon, derived from both in-person survey data and remote-sense data such as API.
DBRC will continue to produce bespoke products in order to better meet the needs of our clients.
